The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed concerns regarding the World Cup 2023 matches being played in the Indian city of Mumbai.
According to PCB sources, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has been informed that the Pakistani team will not travel to Mumbai. PCB has told ICC that Mumbai is not safe for Pakistan cricket team.
Sources say that the semifinals of the ODI World Cup 2023 to be played in India this year will be played in Kolkata and Mumbai. In this regard, the PCB has asked the ICC to schedule the match in Kolkata in case India and Pakistan face each other in the World Cup semi-final.
It should be noted that according to the ICC, the official announcement of the World Cup 2023 schedule will be made today. In the schedule, 3 matches of Pakistan are likely to be played in Kolkata, while the group stage match between Pakistan and India is likely to be played in Ahmedabad.
According to the sources, in the schedule of World Cup 2023, Pakistan vs India has been scheduled on October 15 in Takra Ahmedabad.
It should also be kept in mind that earlier, PCB had expressed reservations about playing its World Cup matches in other cities including the Indian city of Ahmedabad.
