India is constantly working on PCB's new hybrid model related to the Asia Cup cricket tournament scheduled in September. So far PCB has not informed about playing in Pakistan, however after four countries agreed to play in Pakistan, now the ball has reached the court of Asian Cricket Council. Asian officials say that the venue of the Asia Cup will be decided only after all the members agree. Sri Lanka has now become the favorite for the Asia Cup due to India's stubbornness, despite the new hybrid model of playing the match in 2 stages being presented by Pakistan.

Pakistan has already indicated not to play its World Cup matches due to India's non-appearance in the Asia Cup. After Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Nepal have also agreed to play in Pakistan, both have assured the PCB through email to play in Pakistan. Sources say that PCB's hybrid model does not include India playing in Pakistan, so India's objection to the hybrid model is not of any importance. Meanwhile, regarding the World Cup, the Indian Cricket Board has called its special important meeting on May 27 in Ahmedabad.

The purpose of the special meeting is to formulate a final plan regarding ICC World Cup 2023 preparations and venues. The schedule of the World Cup 2023 has not been announced by the ICC so far, but reports claimed that it will be played from October 5 to November 19, for which 12 venues have been selected. The final will be played at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. Pakistan has already indicated not to go to India due to India's attitude towards hosting the Asia Cup
