Now with the Suns, Durant may face James Friday in Los Angeles – if Phoenix doesn't rest him.
Kevin Durant acknowledged that injuries have prevented him and LeBron James from facing each other since Christmas 2018. However, there's a possibility that they may finally play against each other again on Friday when the Suns and Lakers face off in Los Angeles. During Tuesday's shootaround, Durant expressed his surprise about the long gap between their battles and stated that they've been through a lot of unfortunate situations. He hopes that they can move forward and have the opportunity to play together. On the other hand, there's a chance that the Suns may rest Durant for the game as they've secured the fourth seed in the West after their win over San Antonio on Tuesday, combined with New Orleans' loss to Sacramento.

The Kings secured the third seed in the West by defeating the Pelicans. On Friday in Los Angeles, the Suns will face the Lakers for the second game of a back-to-back after playing Denver at home on Thursday. Kevin Durant recently returned from a left ankle sprain that kept him out of action for ten games. Since joining the Suns in a trade deal just before the Feb. 9 deadline, Durant has played in only seven games, all of which the Suns have won. Reflecting on the last time he faced James in 2018, Durant had just led the Warriors to their second consecutive NBA title against James and the Cavaliers. The game was played at Oracle Arena in Oakland, and James was in his first season with the Lakers.
