WPL 2023: UP Warriors win, Gujarat lose second in a row

Mumbai: The UP Warriors team beat Gujarat Giants by three wickets in a very interesting match and started with a win in the Wimner Premier League. In this match played at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday night, Gujarat scored 169 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. After that, the UP team achieved the target by losing seven wickets with one ball remaining and won the match. Australia's all-rounder Grace Harris hit a winning six and scored 59 runs to bounce back. UP needed 53 runs in the last 3 overs to win. Harris hits a six on the first ball of Sutherland's over. A four on the third ball and then a four on the misfield on the fourth ball. Harris hit a six on the 5th ball to give the team a chance to celebrate.

Both shared a not out partnership of 70 runs for the 8th wicket. Kim Girth took 5 wickets for Gujarat.Earlier, Suniya Rana took over the captaincy of Gujarat Giants in Beth Mooney's absence and won the toss and elected to bat first. Gujarat have suffered their second consecutive defeat in this T20 league. He was defeated by Mumbai Indians by 143 runs in the first match. Harleen Deol played a brilliant innings of 46 runs for Gujarat. Harlin hit 7 fours in 32 balls.
