IPL will overtake football as world's biggest sports league by 2040, ex-player predicts

The craze of IPL is gradually increasing. Currently, IPL is the second biggest sports league in the world. The National Football League (NFL) is number one in this regard. Now former England captain Andrew Strauss predicted last Wednesday that by 2040 the IPL will overtake the National Football League to become the biggest league in the world. Apart from this, he said about the women's IPL that it will promote the development of women's cricket. 

 With the Indian economy growing, by the time it reaches the US level in 2040, the IPL is likely to be worth six times what it is today, Strauss said. It will be the biggest domestic sporting tournament in the world.
